Back To School – Vision And Learning

childglassesblackboardIt is a well known and accepted fact that 80% of all learning is done visually.  Yet most children don’t have a comprehensive eye examination before starting school each year.

While there will be many, many vision screenings performed this fall in Racine, it is also a well known fact that up to 30% of children with a vision problem that can affect their learning experience will pass even a very well designed and executed vision screening (this includes the evaluation done by pediatricians during physicals too).  This doesn’t mean that vision screenings are a bad thing, just that they shouldn’t be the only vision evaluation that a child has.

Please insure that the children that you love have the tools that they need to succeed in school.  All the iPads, computers and crayons in the world won’t help children with poor vision succeed in school!
