HealthWatch: Dry Eye Laser Treatment –

For years, I’ve been telling patients to apply warm compresses to help their oil producing tear glands work better, improving their tear quality and reducing dry eye symptoms.  This treatment works well, very well.  It does take some daily discipline to do the warm compresses for 1-2 minutes in the morning and evening, but its free, painless and easy to do.

Well, given the American psyche and “fix me now” mentality, someone has found a way to use a laser to do the same thing, at much greater expense and with potential side effects.  Here’s a link to an online article about this treatment.  I think that I’ll have to mention this during my Update On Dry Eye presentation in New Mexico this weekend!
